The historic main building reveals a rich and peculiar past, which began around 150 years ago as a manor house, having also been a school and used as a hospital when the local population needed healthcare services.

Currently, Estalagem do Vale has 41 rooms with all 21st century amenities, designed to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Guests also have a restaurant and bar at their disposal and as we are a hotel that strives for environmental sustainability, the hotel has an indoor pool in winter and outdoor pool in summer, thus using the natural resources that the environment provides us, as well as of leisure infrastructure, in the main building or in the magnificent gardens. At Estalagem do Vale, children are welcome, and there is also a room specially prepared for guests with mobility difficulties.

Its privileged location, in the northern part of Madeira Island, in the São Vicente valley and in the heart of the Laurissilva Forest, guarantees the revelation of the best that silence and the magic of nature have to tell you. Although Funchal is just 20kms away, another world awaits you, where the chirping of birds, the aromas and the grandeur of nature will guarantee the serenity you deserve.

All rooms are equipped with central heating, safe, cable TV, direct dial telephone and internet access. One of the rooms is prepared to receive guests with mobility difficulties.

The historic manor house of Estalagem do Vale has 5 Superior Double rooms, maintained with original pieces and with all the comforts provided by modernity, namely private bathrooms and central heating. The traditional decor reflects the character of the building.

As the manor house is classified as having municipal value due to its historical importance for the municipality of São Vicente, all of its original design must be maintained, which is why these rooms do not have a balcony.
