Quinta das Vinhas

Quinta das Vinhas was born from the desire to preserve the family heritage and stay in a farm in Madeira. Then, in 1997, we completed the restoration of the Main House and received our first guests. The houses were then built to provide rooms for guests staying for longer visits. Quinta das Vinhas has a strong commitment to preserve the islands heritage, while defending a strong environmental policy.

In 2018 the property was remodeled and another country house was restored. The conversion to an organic vineyard began in early 2018.

Quinta das Vinhas extends over 30,000 m², most of which is occupied by a vineyard. The main house, dating from the 17th century, an annex and 15 chalets, gardens and 2 swimming pools, provide the ideal location for exploring Madeira Island.

Funchal is approximately 35 km from Quinta das Vinhas and Madeira Airport is a 45-minute drive away.

The suites have a bedroom on a mezzanine and a terrace with views of the sea and the mountain.

Cottage suites have king-size beds or 2 singles. The bathroom with shower, a living room and a kitchenette with a fridge, induction hob, microwave, toaster and kettle are located on the ground floor. All have views of the sea and their own terrace.

The apartment has a bedroom, a living room and a kitchenette, overlooking the sea.

The suites of the apartments have king-size or 2 single beds, bathroom with large shower, living room and kitchenette with refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, toaster and kettle.

All have sea and mountain views, and their own seating area in the garden.

The simply furnished rooms have private bathrooms and sea views.

Decorated in country style, with a double bed or twin beds and private bathrooms with shower.

The ground floor rooms in the main house offer direct access to the terrace and the pool area. The rooms in the annex have wonderful views over the vineyard to the sea and a private outdoor seating area.

Casa Balanco is a traditional country house with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the upper floor. The kitchenette, dining room and living areas are on the ground floor. One room has a king-size bed, while the other has 2 twin beds. The bathroom has a walk in shower. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, toaster and kettle. It overlooks the sea and its own terrace.
