Quinta do Furão stands on a cliff top at Achada do Gramacho in Santana, on the northeast coast of the Island of Madeira. The Quinta stands in a 5 hectare property, 3 of which are planted with organic vines, vegetables and herbs. Throughout the gardens, you will see plants you can find in typical Madeira gardens, including endemic plants of island. The vines occupy 2 hectares of the cultivated area of the Quinta and consist on different grape varieties such as: Arnsburger, Nacional Touriga, Verdelho and Tinta Roriz. The soil and the specific climatic conditions of Achada do Gramacho produce an excellent wine. The picking of the grapes occurs in September when the Wine Festival takes place. The comfort and good taste of the hotel and restaurant blend harmoniously with the relaxing landscape where nature and tradition is unspoiled. The hotel was fully renovated in 2020 and has a total of 65 rooms. They are grouped into 7 different categories, focused on offering maximum well-being to our guests and tailored to the needs of each individual. The rooms are equiped with Private Bathroom with Shower, Hair dryer, Bathrobe and slippers, Amenities, Interactive TV, Wireless Internet, Phone, Safe, Minibar, Facilities for coffee and tea, Central heating. Open since 1993, the restaurant has an indoor and outdoor area with an outstanding view of the sea and mountain. Indoors, the rustic ambience, big windows and two enormous fireplaces give a special welcome to guests. Outside, there is a sheltered veranda and another area where you can opt to have your meal in the sunshine. The menu offers a balanced blend of typical Madeira gastronomy and international cuisine, tending to use organic and local products. Our charming and welcoming Pub has traditional stone lined walls and a fireplace which is specially appreciated in the winter. Here you can socialize with other guests or locals while playing billiards. There is also a Wine cellar where you can taste and buy four main types of Madeira wine named after their grape varieties, a bakery and a Bar.
